The Automatic Pump Control automatically regulate the increase of air pressure based on the back pressure against the pump. All Pacific Press Company pump controls utilize the same computer based PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) components, including the operator interface panel and control box. The AP-3 is the new standard pump control. This state of the art design provides the driest filter cake available in the least amount of time. This higher cake density is achieved by monitoring and adjusting the slurry feed pump pressure automatically.

The AP-3 consists of the three components. The first is the control unit, the second is the airline pressure controller and the third is the pump exhaust ‘ feed back’” flow switch. The AP-3 control unit includes a PLC with built in operator interface. It is mounted in a NEMA 4 electrical box. The box is attached to a bracket that is mounted just behind the filter press control panel. The pressure controller/air regulator is mounted on the head section opposite the air blowdown regulator. The switch is to be mounted on the exhaust of the air diaphragm process pump.
